01/01/2010 FROZEN TOES RIDE 2010

Weather permitting, plan on riding the Frozen Toes Ride on New Year's Day.

The following is from Joey:

The best way to start the new year will be with another Frozen Toes Ride. Again this year, we'll meet at Bethpage and ride a route along the country roads surrounding Westmoreland. I'm including links to maps for rides of two different lengths, 30 and 44 miles.

Mark your new calendars. The ride will depart at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 1, 2010 from the Bethpage & Castalian Springs Utility District office located on Hwy 31E.

Jim, Here is the route for the Sunday ride...of course anyone can avoid the big hills if they want(going down Hogan's Branch instead of climbing McMurtry and meeting back up at New Hope, and going up Capps Gap instead of Mud Hollow). Looking forward to meeting your group on Sunday. Bryan

05/09/09 Bike Ride, Big Hill Challenge

It was a very good ride last year with 10, 31, 62 & 100 mile routes. I plan to ride the metric century in place of my usual Saturday map ride.

Carl won't be able to make the ride, so looks like the 75 mile option is now out!
Since the metric doesn't include the "BIG" hill, Carl has come up with a 75 mile alternate that does. The alternative route include pieces of the 32 mile, 62 mile and 100 miles routes, so those riding this route will always be on roads supported by the Big Hill Ride. There will also be four official rest stop options. I believe Carl, Ron, Mandy and possibly others will ride that alternate route. See one of them before the ride to join in.
