11/22/08 Bike Ride, 32 Mi, Station Camp H.S. @ 1:00

Due to the expected low temperatures this Saturday morning, the ride will be delyed to 1 PM. The National Weather Service forcasts the temperature to be up in the 40's by then with sun and a light wind out of the south.

I also plan to ride Sunday with temps expected to get into the low 50's with sun. That ride starts at 1:30 from the Madison Creek School.

11/08/08 Soldier Ride, Wounded Warrior Project

Veterans Day is Tuesday the 11th and The Wounded Warriors Project is supporting a Bike ride Saturday 11/08/08, starting at 9:30 from Edwin Warner Park.

Let's support this effort by riding with them. There isn't any charge, but donations would be appreciated. See the following for more information on the ride.

The main volunteers are arriving at 8
the public is to gather @ 9:30 (arrival time of flag waving 'cheerleaders')........ brief ceremony 9:50 - Tre Ponder's wife will speak - prayer - National Anthem
Ride to DEPART @ 10
Half-way water break about 11 - 11:30 @ Jim Warren Park
Return to Edwin Warner Park - tailgate lunch provided by Marine Lonnie White (funded by Service Academies Liaison officers) for Wounded Riders ..... and enough food for the 'next' 60 riders

This really is growing by the hour so when the first plans & flyers went out ...... not all details could be included. For example, I just got a call from a big country music guy ...... he may show up & do some music.
So we all just need to have a good time !

Keep America’s Heroes Rolling

Support our nation’s injured soldiers as they bring the “Soldier Ride” to Little Rock, Memphis and Nashville. In Nashville they will be biking a 25 mile Franklin Police-escorted route starting at the Vaughn Road entrance to Edwin Warner Park. They will head south through scenic Williamson County along the Old Natchez Trace and Del Rio Pike and then into Franklins’ Jim Warren Park and back.

The “Soldier Ride” raises awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project and its many programs and services it offers to our injured service members.

The All Academy & ROTC Parents’ Club invites the community to show their support of these brave young men and women.

What can I do? COME RIDE WITH THE WARRIORS !

* Cheer on the riders at Edwin Warner Park at the start of the ride at 10 am.

* Cheer them when they finish roughly after noon.

* Gather your neighbors at locations along the way.

* Sponsorship of tailgate lunch for the official “Soldier Ride” participants.

* Help decorate neighborhood entrances and fencerows with American flags in your neighborhood or close by.

* Sponsorship of a flag decorated fencerow along the Old Natchez Trace or Del Rio Pike.

* Sponsorship of the halfway water break at Jim Warren Park.

* Donations can be mailed to the All Academy & ROTC Parents Club, PO Box 50765, Nashville, TN 37205
